Dear esteemed delegates,
It is with great pleasure and honor that I extend a warm welcome to each one of you at the QS Americas Summit 2024, being hosted by our university in the city of Bogotá. This summit marks an important milestone in our collective pursuit of “Collaborative solutions: Empowering Higher Education for the next generation of leaders in the Americas and the Caribbean”.
It is an honor for us to host this event in partnership with QS, an organization that believes in the power of alliances. With a history of over 370 years, Universidad del Rosario has had a unique impact in Colombia. Founded in 1653, our mission has been to educate and consolidate life projects committed to building our country through innovation, technology and academic excellence. Today, almost four centuries later, we take pride in being one of the best institutions in Latin America and Colombia, a country known not only for its cultural, historical and natural richness but also for its educational quality.
We offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across 11 academic units, 8 campuses and strategic partnerships in over 54 countries. We train a community of more than 14,000 students in areas such as: Engineering & Technology, Creative Studies, Management, Economics & Finance, Law, Natural Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Human Sciences, Medicine & Health Sciences, and Political & Urban Sciences. We take pride in promoting knowledge-generating experiences to train leaders with social commitment and a humanistic, international, and intercultural vocation that extends beyond borders.
During this summit, we will celebrate a key moment for our country and region. Colombia, for the first time in history, will be hosting QS Americas. This milestone represents an extraordinary opportunity for education in Latin America and the Caribbean, as it will allow the creation of collaboration scenarios between universities and the strengthening of networks that will benefit our countries and, especially our youth who are the driving force for sustainable development in the continent.
Universidad del Rosario welcomes you to QS Americas 2024 in Bogotá, Colombia. This will be a platform to engage in dialogue, learn and share the challenges and opportunities of our region in terms of education, addressing crucial topics for our youth such as employability, mental health, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
