Since October 2016, Dr Jaime Javier Gutiérrez González has served as Vice-Rector of Research and Graduate Studies at the University of Panama. He supervises and coordinates the growth of activities related to Graduate Studies and Research, and acquires and manages funds to support Research and Innovation initiatives. Dr Jaime has 36 years of teaching and academic experience, involved in the administration of Higher Education in Panama, and
devoted to training professional mathematicians, especially in the fields of Number Theory and General Topology. Since April 2020, he has served as a Regular Professor in the University of Panama’s Department of Mathematics.

– Master of Science specializing in Pure Mathematics from the University of Panama.
– Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Bielefeld, Germany
