Global trends and modern challenges determine the development of higher education today. The socio-economic situation is changing dynamically in the world, and deep structural changes are taking place in the labor market. Classical professions are being replaced by new forms of employment, mainly related to digitalization. At the same time, the role of human capital is undoubtedly growing. Modern challenges have a direct impact on the field of higher education. In addition to fundamental and academic knowledge, universities should instill in students a readiness for changes that occur in society, for continuous development, leadership skills and the ability to make non-standard decisions.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, being one of the oldest universities in the country, continues to increase the level of professionalism and strengthen its competitiveness by expanding cooperation between universities in Asia and the world as a whole.
Al-Farabi KazNU is the largest center of scientific research in Kazakhstan. KazNU scientists conduct advanced research in various fields, including medicine, technology, humanities and social sciences. Their discoveries and developments had a significant impact on the development of the country. The number of international students and joint educational programs at the university is growing every year, and Almaty is becoming an increasingly attractive region for applicants from foreign countries.
Within the framework of the Pre-Summit, issues of promoting international scientific collaborations, publication activity, the impact and reputation of research, and building a global brand of the university are discussed.
I am sure that only together, in the close discussion environment of the Pre-summit tracks, with careful attention to the successful educational practices of partner universities from different countries gathered these days within the walls of the Kazakh National University, we will be able to discover new vectors of development of the professional sphere of higher education!
