The Portuguese National Agency Erasmus+ Education and Training (ANE+EF) is the national body responsible for implementing the Erasmus+ Programme in Portugal across all education sectors — school education, VET, adult education, and higher education. Under the Ministry of Education, the Agency promotes mobility, cooperation, capacity building, and innovation, supporting the internationalisation of the Portuguese education and training system.
In line with its current mandate (Council of Ministers Resolution No. 115/2021), ANE+EF works to:
- Support participation in European networks, including the European Universities initiative;
- Strengthen the global appeal of Portuguese institutions;
- Promote international cooperation and attract international learners and researchers.
In partnership with national authorities and key organisations such as CRUP (Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities), CCISP (Polytechnic Coordinating Council), APESP (Portuguese Association of Private Higher Education), DGES (Directorate-General for Higher Education), CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries), FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation), the Fulbright Commission, and AICEP (Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency), the Agency contributes to reinforcing Portugal’s role as a destination of excellence for study and research.
