Applied Science Private University (ASU) stands as a trailblazing institution in higher education in Jordan. Rooted in the values of diversity, inclusiveness, and educational excellence, the university is committed to advancing education, scientific research, and community service and development. Situated in the Shafa Badran area within Amman, the capital city of Jordan, ASU commenced its educational mission in 1991, following the acquisition of its license in 1989.
The university’s expansive campus covers 356,000 sqm and features state-of-the-art facilities, including an in-house medical center and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
In 2018, the ISO 9001:2008 certificate was renewed, and the University successfully received the latest version of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015). ASU was the first university in Jordan to receive the Quality Assurance Certificate in Education, Scientific Research and Community Service – Golden Level. Moreover, it is the first private university in Jordan and the Middle East to receive a QS 5-stars-plus issued by the QS Rating.
ASU is home to 12 faculties: Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Sharia & Islamic Studies, Art & humanities, Law, Business, Arts & Design, Nursing, Information Technology, Allied Medical Sciences, Dentistry, and Sciences. They award degrees in 38 undergraduate and 14 postgraduate programs.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University was the first to obtain the Quality Assurance Certificate in Education, Scientific Research and Community Service – Golden Level. It was also the first across all private universities to obtain the ACPE certification. The Faculties of Information Technology, Engineering, and Nursing have also obtained the Silver Level Quality Assurance Certificate in Education, Scientific Research and Community Service.
The Faculty of Engineering was the first to obtain full accreditation by ABET of all engineering programs among all private universities. Faculty of Information Technology is ABET accredited, Nursing is ACEN accredited, and Law is HCÉRES accredited.
